Who are we?

Partners in Skills is a non-profit organization that is transforming earning potential for women in Israel. Since its inception in 2017, we have trained 28 data scientists and engineers and employed over 35 people in our data science startup, Integralytic, and have developed a proprietary healthcare product, marketed as DolphinCare. We are offering this course below cost price to enable people to gain skills for employment.

What is Data Science?

Data Science is the field of study that uses data to extract knowledge for business decisions. It involves programming in python, math and statistics, and logic.

How do I know this course is good for me?

There will be a two-week intro course after which we will assess if you will be successful in the course. 

In general, the following qualities are important:

  1. Interest in and commitment to working a minimum of 20 hours per week.
  2. Ability to use a computer proficiently and willing to learn new technologies.
  3. Interest in a stimulating and mentally challenging job that involves creative analytical thinking.

Will there be homework?

We are going to integrate time for homework into the classwork. You will often not complete all your work during class, and may need to frequently spend up to one hour per day on homework.

Do I need to quit my job?

The decision is up to you. Attendance in class is mandatory. We have found that people working while doing this course have found it to be challenging.

What kind of certification will I get for completing the course?

You will receive a Dataquest certificate in both data science and data analysis upon course completion, as well as a certificate
from Partners in Skills. Dataquest is a highly regarded online bootcamp for learning data science and data analytics. You will not receive a college degree for this course.

what if I go on maternity leave during the course?

It is your responsibility to make up the work before and after, and to take only the time necessary (usually around 6 weeks)

Can someone with english as a second language take this course?

 The ability to think and process information in English is necessary for the course. All our materials are in English and you need a high level of reading comprehension. In addition, spoken and written English proficiency are a must.

What is Data engineering?

A data engineer prepares data for analytical or operational uses. They are typically responsible for building data pipelines to bring together information from different source systems. They integrate, consolidate and clean data and structure it for use in analytics applications. They aim to make data easily accessible and to optimize their organization’s big data ecosystem. Data engineering involves planning,problem solving, attention to detail, and ‘big picture’ skills.

Why should I take this course through you?

Depending on available slots, successful participants may be offered an internship in our company and possible employment. Graduates from the previous cohort are currently employed by the company.  Integralytic offers a unique work environment for frum women with strict Internet and workplace guidelines. Required in-office hours are Sunday-Thursday 9am-1pm to accommodate employees’ many outside responsibilities.

What if Haven't used a computer in a long time?

If you need to brush up on your skills, you must do so before the start of the course. Computer proficiency is required for this course. Learning to work with new technologies is an important part of our training, so you need to be willing and able to learn new computer skills throughout the course.

what does computer proficiency mean?

If you would like to evaluate your computer proficiency, we recommend to use this test:  https://www.digitalliteracyassessment.org/ 

Essential computer skills (Basic Computer Skills, Internet Basics, Using Email and Windows)  and Essential Software Skills (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Powerpoint, Google Docs) are necessary, as well as using shared drives on Google.

Can I work or attend the course remotely?

No.

Although I understand that I am not guaranteed employment, how much do people at Integralytic earn?

Our recent graduates are currently earning 60 shekel per hour. Following the internship, our employees typically earn 80-100 shekel per hour. After a few years at Integralytic, employees earn 100-140 shekel per hour.

Is the company closed during bein hazmanim?

No. We are closed during Chol Hamoed and Erev Yom Tov.
